Parasol Alliance, Mary’s Woods and PointClickCare Win Gold at 2026 McKnight’s Tech Awards

Award-winning EHR implementation demonstrates how strong partnerships, hands-on training and a culture that embraces change can transform technology adoption in senior living.

September 7, 2026 — Parasol Alliance, a full-service technology partner exclusively serving the senior living industry, is proud to announce that its collaborative electronic health record (EHR) implementation with Mary’s Woods and PointClickCare earned Gold, First Place in the Electronic Health Records category at the 2026 McKnight’s Tech Awards + Summit.

The award recognizes a successful transition from MatrixCare to PointClickCare at Mary’s Woods, a senior living community that demonstrated how organizational readiness, intuitive technology and hands-on support can lead to exceptional user adoption.

A Partnership for Transformation

For Mary’s Woods, implementing PointClickCare was about more than replacing an existing EHR. The organization recognized an opportunity to modernize clinical workflows, improve documentation processes and give caregivers technology that better supports their daily responsibilities.

Working together, Mary’s Woods, PointClickCare and Parasol Alliance developed an implementation approach that prioritized staff engagement, training and organizational readiness.

Parasol Alliance served as the client-side project management lead, coordinating implementation activities, supporting data migration, facilitating communication between stakeholders and providing hands-on onsite training and go-live assistance.

PointClickCare provided the EHR platform and implementation expertise, while Mary’s Woods leadership and staff demonstrated a strong commitment to embracing new technology and workflows.

The result was an exceptionally smooth transition.

Exceptional Adoption From Day One

One of the most remarkable outcomes occurred during the first 48 hours of go-live.

Following three days of onsite training, Parasol Alliance provided two days of hands-on support as staff transitioned to PointClickCare. While questions and requests for assistance were expected during the initial rollout, the number of staff needing assistance decreased by 80% on the second day of go-live.

These results reflected both the intuitive design of PointClickCare and the preparation of Mary’s Woods employees, who approached the transition with openness and a willingness to learn.

Rather than allowing resistance to change to slow adoption, Mary’s Woods fostered an environment where employees understood the value of the new technology and felt supported throughout the process.

Technology Culture Makes the Difference

For Parasol Alliance, the award reflects the company's broader vision of Transforming Technology Culture in Senior Living.

Technology implementations are often measured by whether a system launches successfully. However, long-term success depends on whether employees feel confident using that technology and understand how it supports their work.

Mary’s Woods demonstrated the importance of that distinction.

Through leadership engagement, staff preparation, onsite education and ongoing support, the organization created an environment where technology adoption became a shared priority.

The implementation also highlighted the value of collaboration between a senior living provider, its technology partner and its EHR vendor. Each organization contributed distinct expertise, working toward the shared goal of improving the experience for caregivers and strengthening the technology foundation supporting resident care.

Recognizing a Shared Achievement

The Gold Award recognizes the collective efforts of Mary’s Woods, PointClickCare and Parasol Alliance and demonstrates what senior living organizations can accomplish when technology, people and processes work together.

For Parasol Alliance, the recognition reinforces a simple belief: successful technology transformation begins with people.

The award-winning project serves as an example for senior living organizations considering EHR modernization and illustrates how the right combination of technology, preparation and ongoing partnership can create meaningful organizational change.
