Meraki Systems Manager End-of-Sale: What This Means for You
Cisco has announced the end-of-sale for Meraki Systems Manager (SM). Nothing is breaking today, and there is no immediate fire to put out, but this is one of those moments where planning early makes a big difference.
What’s Actually Changing
Meraki SM is being phased out. That means no new licenses or a defined runway for support. For Parasol clients, it’s important to note that Meraki SM is used specifically for mobile device management, not your full endpoint environment.
Your mobile device management environment will continue to run, but over time, the platform will become more limited, less supported, and harder to rely on. This is not urgent (for now), but it is important.
Mobile device management often sits in the background, but it still plays a key role in security, access, applications, and compliance for those devices. When a platform like this starts to sunset, the risk is not immediate failure. The risk is falling behind and not realizing it until it’s too late.
What This Means for You
If you are a current Parasol client, you do not need to take action. We are already reviewing environments, identifying where Meraki SM is in place for mobile device management, and building next steps for each organization. Your team will hear from us directly with a clear plan.
If you are not currently working with Parasol, this is the time to start planning. Without a clear understanding of your environment and dependencies, it is easy to fall into a reactive cycle when deadlines get closer.
What Now?
Nothing needs to happen overnight. You can find all important key dates on their website. The organizations that plan early will have more flexibility, better outcomes, and fewer surprises.
Again, if you are a current client, your Parasol team is already working on this and will be in touch with next steps.
If you are not currently working with Parasol Alliance, now is the time to consider a Technology Assessment & Strategic Roadmap so you can plan ahead with clarity and confidence. Let’s connect to talk next steps.
